Join us! As our next Production Supervisor, reporting to the Production Process Manager, you will oversee the activities and areas directly associated with liquids production including compounding, replenishment, automated systems, bulk storage and dispensing areas to ensure safe, quality and production.
You will also organize staff and material flow to optimize plant performance.
Train the staff to achieve department and organization goals and summarize shift activities and leave clear information on any issues that need to be addressed by supervisors and group leaders on other shifts.
This position is located in East Hanover, NJ.
This is a third-shift position - 11 pm to 7 am.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for:
Oversee Group Leaders and hourly staff and their daily activities to ensure the production of liquid compounds.
Organize staff and material flow to optimize performance.
Assist Scheduler(s) with prioritizing shop orders based on production capacity and customer demands.
Oversee replenishment activity and material movement into and out of production.
Direct dispensing and processing functions.
Monitor batch yields and initiates adjustments.
Identify cause for production delays and take corrective action.
Work with QC to resolve manufacturing or material problems.
Adjust finished compounds to comply with Quality Control specifications.
Investigate any production non-conformance and customer complaints.
Initiate corrective action.
Help develop and implement multiple cost reduction techniques to maximize product profitability.
Investigate new equipment and methods to upgrade manufacturing and efficiency and make recommendations to management.
Maintain accurate Production and Inventory records.
Ensure that all production and inventory transactions are reported.
Train staff to identify and correct problems.
Coordinate with Warehouse in obtaining on-time delivery of materials necessary for production.
Ensure compliance with operational safety, environmental protection, industrial hygiene, and GMP standards.
Coordinate removal of waste.
Train staff in safety and standard operating procedures (e.
g.
sampling, mixing, packing, flashpoint, and flammables).
Develop staff; implement cross training for staff to ensure techniques and greater productivity.
Promote work rules, attendance, time-cards and all procedures.
Monitor performance and institutes corrective action.
Required
Qualifications:
College degree in any related field.
Knowledge of flavor industry raw materials, finished goods and hazardous materials associated with production and packing.
Working knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.

years work experience in compounding; 2
years supervisory in flavors manufacturing.
