Project Description:
Our client is currently upgrading from 9.0 to 9.2 PeopleSoft HCM. The client has a strong internal team on the functional side, but are looking to add an additional set of hands on the technical team to help with enhancements and troubleshooting during system testing.

Day to Day
Responsibilities:
This candidate will be brought in to join the development team on the upgrade. The candidate will be making system enhancements while the internal team is upgrading the system from 9.0 to 9.2. Their current system is heavily customized with many bolt-ons to their HCM environment for HR and Payroll data. During this upgrade, this developer will be used to support the in-house technical team and must keep COBOL going. Our client's application development environment for COBOL is Net Express. Work to be done will include dealing with all service requests so this developer must understand COBOL and Unix Shells/Scripting.
System testing during the upgrade is scheduled to begin in late November. This developer will be asked to solve any issues that the testing team finds in development. To solve these issues, this developer must be an expert writing PeopleCode from scratch and utilizing App designer. These developers MUST have COBOL and understand all phases of the Upgrade Life Cycle; including development, testing, go-live, production support, and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills:
PeopleSoft Technical HCM 7-8 years
Expert understanding of COBOL
Enhancement experience
Expert with PeopleCode and troubleshooting issues from testing
Dealing with Service requests
Understanding of UNIX shells

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
